Really just on here because I’m really happy and my family does not understand it.

When I got Hermione she was always rather friendly but pretty distant and unloving. After about 2 months of cuddles and treats every day I’ve finally successfully bonded with her. Whenever I go by her cage and stick my fingers through the bars she’ll come running up, smell my fingers and if they don’t still smell like her she’ll rub her chin all over them, then lick them and ask for treats. If I take her out to sit with me at the computer (as she is right now) she’ll groom both my arms up and down (obsessively until they’re clean to HER standards) and put her paws on my shoulder, laying down until I’m forced to move her so I can type.  Most of the time I end up getting distracted and just sit there petting her because she’s being so cuddly and sweet. Sometimes she’ll accidentally nip me when I’m feeding her and she’ll find the bite mark and lick it until she’s satisfied it’s alright.

So yeah, just on here to kind of brag I guess. REALLY happy!

Awwww. Bunny love IS the best. My baby girl will sometimes hop up on my collar bone and snuggle by my neck. SO STINKIN CUTE! She gives the best kisses ever. I love your bunny’s name. Is it after Harry Potter? My one girl is named Bellatrix

Yes! I named all my bunnies after Harry Potter characters! I have Fred and George who I THINK are brothers but I got them at a shelter so I’m not sure. Both of them have reddish fur (George is my profile picture). Then there’s Ginny who looks nothing like her “brothers” but had EXACTLY the personality of Ginny Weasley. Sweet and adorable but very feisty when you annoy her. I LOVE your bun’s name! Is that her in your profile pic?

We almost named Bombur Lupin, but he wouldn’t stop eating so Bombur stuck. My husband and I already agreed that if we get a black  bunny at some point that his name has to be Sirius, and when we get a flemish giant it’s going to be named Hagrid.

I ALMOST got a Flemish but we couldn’t find any within reasonable driving distance and I was TOTALLY gonna name him Hagrid but *shrug* plans fell through. I got Fred and George instead and I do wish I had gotten a Flemish but I wouldn’t give them up for ANYTHING.

Also, love the name Bombur!  I LOVE the Hobbit and the movie series was really good, too. Martin Freeman is AMAZING. Seen Sherlock? He was GREAT in that.

No that is not Bellatrix in my profile picture. I need to figure out how to embed pics so I can share. Hmm…I will get on this and hopefully come back and show you her picture.

If that is your bun in your profile, then you are a lucky Rex parent. Rex’s are known for being very friendly. My first bunny was a Mini-Rex and was super friendly and very bonded to both me and my husband. And get gave lots and lots of kisses too.

                      Bellatrix is beautiful!

AAGH! All the buns on this forum are giving me a cuteness overload! HELP! TOO MUCH CUTE. Bellatrix looks very easy to take a picture of. The only bunny of mine that is cooperative is Ginny, she LOVES to be the center of attention. As soon as she sees a camera/phone she’ll strike a pose until she hears the picture being taken, then she’ll move to another position, it’s ADORABLE.
And yes, Rexes ARE very cuddly, lovey bunnies. I LOVE them.

Bellatrix is our least friendly bun but she lays down this way a lot and we think it is too cute. She was the most adorable baby when we got her. That little white nose! She is quite fat now. My husband calls her a football with a head LOL.

The bun in my profile pic will not stand still for a picture at all. Neither will my new mini-rex. They both want to be in your face and as soon as the phone shows up they are like…what’s this? a toy? a toy? mine? ha ha

LOL Willow my bun is the same!!! She will lay completely still all cuddled up next to me and as soon as I think it’s safe to try and snap a pic she pops up so fast and just sticks her face right on the phone. In my profile pic, I actually managed to get her before she noticed! We were sitting on the couch rubbing noses and I went for the pic, luckily there was a light banging noise outside and she froze for a few seconds listening and I GOT THE PIC

Lol, almost a month since I last visited Binky bunny, so busy now. I went on vacation for a week and a half and when I got back my bunnies were VERY upset I had left them for so long. It took them almost a week for them to warm up again but Hermione it took barely an hour and a few grapes. Fred is still a little upset but not so much as before. They bounced back surprisingly fast, pun intended. XD

I’ll have to watch that in October – I’m planning to go down to North Carolina over Columbus Day weekend and since I can’t take Panda and Fernando (I actually still am looking for a decent carrier!), I’ll have to find a bunny-sitter. I just hope they won’t be too miffed when I get back home.

This is Ginny, picturesque as always. She likes to pose whereas Hermione usually has to be held down.

The one of the little black one, Hermione, is only a month or two old but she is MUCH bigger now, at least twice the size if not bigger. She’s five, maybe six months in this whereas she’s about seven or eight months now.

Thank you very much! Don’t let Ginny hear you say that though, her ego is bigger than both her manes combined. Ginny is queen and gets what she wants no matter what, even though she’s the smallest. Even George doesn’t stand up to her. I don’t honestly know what breed she is, though I’m pretty sure she’s a Lionhead. As to whether she’s purebred or not, there’s no telling. I sort of adopted her from a Retirement Home. Long story short, the secretary didn’t want her anymore and literally dropped her in my arms and said, “She’s yours!”

Hermione’s ears are actually twice the size shown in the picture and I thought she would grow into them but NOPE. They grew even bigger and she actually likes to play with them, it’s hilarious.

Double maned lionheads usually are mostly (if not pure) lionhead. So there you have it.

Yay! I always wondered, but didn’t really care. I’ve always kind of wanted to do shows but I don’t know the requirements for breed, color etc. etc.

Show requirements can be pretty complicated. You might want to go to the ARBA site, I’m pretty sure there’s a national club for lionheads which would be linked from there. I’m pretty certain that my Panda is a purebred Polish (I have no way to know whether her son Fernando is though because we don’t know who the father of Panda’s litter was), but she might not be perfect “show-quality” because of a minor imperfection; ears on that breed are supposed to touch from tip to base, but Panda’s are in a classic V-shape.

(Chief Bogo voice) Who cares? I like her ears!

Lionheads are an only recently recognised breed (relatively speaking) so there’s a lot of conflicting info out there too. But meh… a bun’s a bun: darling no matter what their pedegree.
