So I’ve been planning on getting a rabbit for a long time now but I can’t seem to figure out how to keep them, for I usually switch between houses every week. I’m thinking about the best way to change the schedule. Maybe I should stay at one house for a longer period of time than the other and bring my rabbit with me each trip to each house? Maybe I should have my dad keep watch over the rabbit for a couple days or so when I’m not around? Or stay over each parent’s house for about a week or more each to reduce the amount of travel with my rabbit?

I would really love to adopt a rabbit and be able to form a relationship with them but I don’t want to stress them out with constant moving back and forth, so I’d like to figure out a good travel schedule for them or if I should just have them stay at one house (though I’m not sure my dad would appreciate or would even let my rabbit out to exercise while I was away )

        Please help if you can?

          Them? As in two rabbits?

I would, if you can, have a cage at each house and a travel carrier to take the rabbit(s) with you wherever you are. My buns get pretty upset when we are not around for a long time but it has to be done occasionally. (I think now I would pay one of my adult kids to house/bunny sit, though. They are all good with animals).

            Tough situation…
Are both your parents definitely on board with you getting a rabbit – one that will live inside?

If you do go ahead, I recommend you adopt an adult rabbit that is already desexed. This will make things much easier all round. I’d also look for a rabbit that is already accustomed to travelling.
How far would you be travelling between your 2 homes?

Yes, they are both on board, and it’s not far between both homes. I was just worried about how the traveling could stress the rabbit, thank you very much for your advice

personally…. if you can have bunny set ups in both houses which are not far from each other, then just take bunny with you whenever you move…..
                Win win all round !!
For ease of carrying (on buses or walking too) maybe aim for a bunny on the small to medium size, rather than a big rabbit.

Try and get a desexed adult as JG says (rescue?) – you know it wont get any bigger and youll be able to see if it is a cool chilled out bun who might enjoy moved around rather than a stressed, jumpy, nervous bun
