Severus (my big 9 pound female) has been itching her ears a lot lately. I’ve looked for mites and no sign of them. She has a future bond next door and he has not been itchy his ears. Sev has had ear mites before and the vet said I caught them super early, so I know what I’m looking for. I also looked for fur mites and no signs of it. Her skin is and hair look normal, except a little red from itching.

        Should I be worried??

Also random question: How often do you trim your rabbit’s nails?

Well it might be a sign of an ear infection. Is she shaking her head to make her ears flap around or tilting her head to one side slightly?

Also, it depends on the rabbit breed on how often they need to be trimmed. I have to trim my lionhead’s nails almost weekly but the rexes only need it a few times a month. I usually just watch and when they need it I trim them.

She doesn’t seem to tilt her head, I may just make an appointment b/c I dont want her to get head tilt. I may try to wait a week. Is that a good idea? I’m not really well on money with college starting back up but if i need to take her, she does before that. I can take out a loan but I can’t undo my baby being sick. Any other signs I should look for. She also will grab her ear and cleans/scratches it.

She is a pet store baby (I know she was a compulsive buy once i found out they lived long, I have a foster to adopt from a shelter now). She is very big built and has big ears. I’ll post pictures with it. She never seems to need her nails trim but I do it anyways when she lets me lol.
