Today I cleaned the litterbox and cage, I made sure my bunnies weren’t watching me clean.. but right after I finished cleaning and they went back in to use the litterbox, my male rabbit keeps grabbing the litterbox with his mouth and tries to flip it whilst doing a weird digging motion   My female bunny (spayed) would kind of do the same thing too but it’s not as bad as my Buck.

I don’t know if it’s because I cleaned it? Or the cleaning materials I used because I’ve always been using vinegar + water to clean everything and they didn’t have an issue with this before. I even put the litterbox and bowls back in the spots they were in before, I don’t get it!!

Why are they doing that?  it’s absolutely frustrating especially since I just cleaned and changed the litterbox!

Why did you make sure they weren’t watching? Whenever I clean the litter box my buns are always up in my business LOL, trying to grab the scoop. I have two boxes and only clean one (washed and sanitized) at a time outside. I have never had issues like that but my boy rabbit does liked to move them around so I have fixed them to the wall. I have had so much less mess since I did that!

I was told that Rabbits hate it when their stuff is rearranged, and my female bunny HATED it  bunnies are so mysterious!

I’m just picturing you doing the cleaning while fearfully looking behind your shoulder out of fear of bunny vengeance. Lol… Most bunnies do hate when their stuff is touched. Females are especially territorial so that makes sense that your girl was upset. My little Bridge Bun, Olivia, used to pummel me and grunt if I did anything in her cage while she was in there.

This is very interesting. My buns always just think it is play time. They binky and try to get in my way. My boy bunny will use any excuse to lick my feet LOL.

They do get a bit miffed when I disrupt their nests but that is to be expected.
