Hey everyone, I just wanted to see if you could offer any advice. I have two female rabbits and they have been bonded for a couple years now, they used to love each other. Then recently one of them got very sick and I think lashed out at the other because she wasn’t feeling well (this is what I assume since I didn’t actually see who caused the first fight.) The fight was quite scary, there was fur flying everywhere and one of them broke the skin slightly with a scratch or bite. Since then the one that was attacked seems on edge around her, and the one that was sick seems to be charging every time I let them out of their cages. I was hoping time would heal all and they would forgive and forget now that the sick one is feeling better, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Any advice on how to reintroduce them and get them to trust each other again? It’s so sad because they seem to miss each other, just staring at each other forlornly from their cages.

That’s really sad Did you seperate them after the first fight? If not, it’s best to separate them completely for a while so that they can’t see or smell each other. Then start bonding from the beginning.

Oh really? They are still in cages side by side. I will consider moving them to different rooms ….
