My bunnies ivy and bean just got brand new cage made for them complete with two levels and ramps. The only flaw is they don understand the ramps and how to use them! Anyone have suggestions for showing them how? I’ve already tried to lead them down with food but the don’t care Thant much to.

I think ramps is one of those things where your rabbit will need to try it so they trust it’s safe. Is there anyway to make the ramps seem more usable? Perhaps temporarily adhering strips of carpet in a ladder-rung formation on them so the paws can hold on to something? Wick seems to learn when I lift him through the intended motion (ie when he’s stuck on an end table and can’t figure out how he got there). Wick’s calm and attentive when picked up, so if your rabbits are okay with that, perhaps lift them a bit from the top, and float them down to the bottom.

When Thor first came home she was very cautious of ramps as well! She did not follow food up there when I tried to lead her, I think she was too nervous. I ended up leaving a little trail of favorite veggies up the ramp with a pile of them at the top. Then I left that overnight and when I woke up in the morning all the food was gone Since then she’s gotten very used to the ramp, goes up to her upper level to sleep every night
