My rabbit seems to be drinking much less water lately and also pees a lot less. What might have caused this?

I have recently also gotten another rabbit who is living separately right now but he can still smell and see her, do you think he might be drinking less water because of this?

        Thank you.

If it is a drastic change in behavior I would definitely have it checked out.
My adult rabbits hardly drink any water. I use a water bowl (not a Lixit) and change it every other day so it is fresh. My bunnies get a lot of fresh greens and there is water in that. They do pee several times a day.

My baby rabbit (kept separately) drinks a lot of water. She pees a lot more than my adult bunnies.
This is the same pattern I noticed with my first baby rabbit, she drank a peed a lot until she was fully grown and then it reduced drastically. All my rabbits are vet-checked healthy.

Does your rabbit have a water bowl or sipper bottle?

I agreek with WL. Mine drink nothing, not a drop (unless heatwave) , but they get plenty of water through kilos of chicory and salad leaves and they pee plenty so i know its ok. But if it is a drastic change of behaviour, follow your gut and get him checked out.

My rabbit has both a water bowl and a water bottle. Now he seems to be drinking a bit more.
