I recently spayed my three year old rabbit. Is post-spay behavior affected by age? I know it’s common for rabbits to get spayed around 6 months, but is the fact that she got spayed at three going to affect her behavior? Thanks!

It’s going to affect the hormonal aspects of her behavior. Her personality will likely remain the same. An older bun is more set in its ways than a young bun.

It can be a while before she comes back to her normal self after the spay, though. This is true regardless of spaying-age. A period of “post-spay craze” is to be expected, it can last from a month up to 6 months for some individuals. During this post-spay period, hormonally driven behaviors such as cage aggression, marking territory and sometimes also bunny courtship (circling, grunting, nipping) can be enhanced.
