I’ve caught my rabbit chewing on my clothes lately and the first time I saw him doing this I thought he was eating it! But when I quickly grabbed the piece of clothing there wasn’t any holes or bitten marks on it, the clothes were just wet and damp. He does this at random times. It looks like he’s chewing on the clothes and eating it but really when I check he’s just making it wet and damp from his saliva. Does anyone have a rabbit that does this ? What could it possibly mean ?

How old is your bun? Is he chewing or licking? Because licking is usually his way of grooming you via something that smells like you? Does he lick carpet, furniture, cushions, your hands?

He’s 8 years old and yes he does lick our hands and sometimes the carpet . I just noticed how he started chewing on our clothes without damaging it except the wetness part.

Could just be love. But have his vet take a look at his teeth just in case during his next visit – simply to rule out any dental issues that he might be trying to alleviate by gumming on something soft.

That could be it too! A year ago the vet had mentioned how she noticed one tooth was a tiny bit longer than the other but to not worry about it and to just keep an eye on him and his next check up is next month so I’ll definitely give the vet a call to see if the uneven tooth is still there! Thanks I had completely forgot about that remark she had told me.
