When I first got Ophelia 4 months ago, I was constantly googling any and every little thing about buns. I found myself on this forum so much, and I learned so much from these guys that I decided to join. (Also, all I want to do is talk about my bunnies and no one cares because they haven’t had buns and they don’t understand!)

Anyway, I never introduced myself or my buns so here goes! I live in the U.S in Florida, so I of course have my buns inside- I nearly melt when I walk out of the door and I don’t have all the fur they do!  I only ever planned on having one bunny… then I saw bonded pairs of bunnies and I started to feel really guilty about leaving Ophelia at home all day while I worked. So we made the plunge and we just got the second bun! Ophelia is my 6 month dutch doe and our newest addition is Quincy, an 8 week old broken tort mini lop buck. Ophelia is already spayed, she’s SO sweet and so well behaved. She is truly an angel  Quincy we have only had for two days, but the breeder said he is very, very sweet and he has already warmed up to me a lot quicker than Ophelia did!

Hello and welcome! Aw they’re so sweet <3 How are you guys dealing with hotness? Over here it's 40°C and my bun's black… so he's in vampire mode (only goes out after sunset)

Oh we are paying dearly to keep cool….. Electricity bills have gone up by about $50-$80 each month since we got our little friends… I used to leave the A/C set on 80-82 F while we were at work since we didn’t need the apartment cool while we were gone. But, with my babies at home all day I set the A/C to 75-77 F for them. Florida is extremely sunny and it makes the apartment get SO warm over the course of the day, even when the A/C is on. Also, we are on the top floor, another contributing factor to it becoming a lot warmer since heat rises. It sucks to get that $180-$200 electricity bill every month but oh well, as long as buns are comfy

Hello again! Its lovely to see pics of cute little Quincy

I feel you on the AC, our bill has gone up quite a bit this summer and we only live in New England! But TB being a black lop she would easily melt in any heat.

We almost went with Rory! In fact….that was his decided name until we picked him up. But he was sooo fuzzy and sweet and Quincy just seemed like a cute, cuddly name that fit him!

Your two furbubs really are so adorable, names and all

I hear you about the heat. We’ve been trying to survive with humid temps hovering around 60C this summer, and something as little as a nail trim car ride to the vet becomes an elsborate production of pre-cooling and moulting bun discomfort minimization
