Hey guys. So we’ve had Luna, Holland lop doe for about 8 months so far. Everything great. Just curious today, we decided to give her a little hit of carrot as a treat. Well she kept literally yanking it out of our hands. Quite forcefully lol. Is she too spoilt, or is this normal? Haha.

My rabbits do this all the time, they don’t understand that we would consider that rude. If you really don’t like that I suppose you could try to teach her that it’s wrong, but often times that doesn’t work. I think she’s fine, just being a normal rabbit.

Hah! Cute little buns, this sounds totally normal. If we don’t hang on tight, Thor will grab baby carrots right out of our hands. The cute thing is that she then runs around the room binkying and looking for a safe place to eat it where we can’t interfere She sometimes runs a few laps around the apartment before eating it

Lol. @ThorBunny’s answer sounds very familiar. Hazel even prances around with big leaves of her dinner lettuce in absolute joy.

My bun likes being able to grab things – especially if there’s resistance. We have an ikea bag holder (VARIERA) as a hay feeder; both buns seemed to most enjoy when it’s overfull and they have to tug mouthfuls out. It’s a project .

That’s cute As long as the behavior doesn’t escalate in demand/forcefulness it’s probably fine. Hand feeding some animals like horses etc can encourage impatient nipping. Especially if our fingers smell like the food they are eating (hamster eating raisins out of your hand, might take a bite out of the finger while he’s there! It all smells like raisins). If the behavior seems to escalate you could always just feed her from a surface so she doesn’t associate your fingers with actual food. If it’s just her being silly with no fluctuating behaviors then, how funny!

LOL my bun was so bad at doing that at first! She would just snatch everything I hand fed to her. Eventually she stopped and she will just sit and eat out of my hand. But she is still a priss to strangers and just takes the snack and moves away
