Hey everyone! Here you can see my bunny’s groin in the picture. The photo was taken yesterday. I assume those are his testicles. The thing is; when I checked on him earlier today it was gone but 5 minutes ago when I checked on him once more, the things on the picture were there again. What could it be? And why? Should I be concerned?

Hmm. I can’t see a picture posted… If you are having trouble you could upload a picture on your profile and Ill look there…

From some short research, you should always be able to see the testicles… Is it possible when you looked them earlier they weren’t just covered by fur? If it happens again they are “gone”, you should investigate a little further and examine the rabbit (move the fur around, look in flaps, etc. to see if they are just hiding, or tucked somewhere? check for lumps?) If you do think there is a problem though, you should go see a vet (and possible neuter the rabbit, to prevent any diseases).

On the other hand, if it is brown, it could be poop? and your bunny just needs to clean a little better? If this is the case, check its diet and compare to what you should be feeding, and clean the toilet more often.

          Good luck!

The picture couldn’t be seen as you had attached it, but not inserted it into your post, I have fixed that for you

Yes, it looks like his testicles. Rabbits have the ability to sort of suck them back up into their body. So you’ll mostly see them when they’re relaxed or just going about their day, sometimes mostly if they are stressed or often when they get picked up they withdraw them to protect them.

Speaking of it, when should I get him neuterilized? What would happen if I don’t?

Couldn’t help but saying it, you guys are awesome!

Most vets are comfortable to neuter male rabbits once their testicles have dropped, otherwise from 6 months of age.

Many un-nuetered males can be quite hormonal, circling, marking territory with poop and pee, spraying urine, and sometimes they can be bossy and territorial. The very hormonal males try to mount everything. Neutering will calm down a very hormonal rabbit and prevent pee spraying and territorial marking.
