One of my bunnies, Milk Dud, has always been a bit of a loner. Doesn’t like to come within reach, but perfectly friendly otherwise. He never bites or is in any way aggressive, so I’ve just accepted this as his personality. He’s not a cuddlebun.

However, lately when I go hang out in their cage with them late at night (their cage is the spare bedroom, and it’s late at night due to insomnia and work deadlines), Milk Dud wants to constantly lick me! I’ve read that this is the ultimate sign of affection and it is adorable as all hell! However, he still won’t let me pet him. Its actually rather hilarious how he squishes flat trying to avoid being petted but still licking me. If I try for more than one touch, he’ll run to the other end of the room though–only to be back in 2 mins licking me! He seems to be really happy im here but I dont get it.

He might be warming up to you then. Maybe he’ll come around eventually and let you pet him if you let him lick. My Bam needed a very long time before he accepted getting pet.
