My 2 boy holland lops, just curious when I’ll know for sure if they’re true dwarves or false dwarves. Asriel is the broken black tort and Bombur is the orange. They’re 13 weeks old and last weigh in was 2.8 pounds. When will I be able to fully tell.

I am not well-versed in the world of breeds/sizes etc. as all my buns are shelter bunnies, but I just wanted to say your bunnies are absolutely adorable. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable in this area will post.

Ear length can sometimes help. True dwarf Hollands will have shorter ears that hang about 1 inch below the jaw. This isn’t going to be true 100% of the time, but short ears are definitely a dwarf trait. It may not be completely evident until the are full grown though (i.e. sometimes they grow into their ears). False dwarfs will also sometimes have a less rounded head. Hollands have very round and blocky heads. A false dwarf will still have a somewhat rounded head, but they tend to look a little bit different if that makes sense.

Once they are full grown, you can go off of weight too (if they aren’t overweight/fat, of course). They should be fully grown around 6 months, but they will continue to fill out a bit until 9-12 months.

Some it’s too hard to tell. There are some signs that can make it obvious- one is weight at full grown ( so 6-7 months for a holland ) over 4lbs and you’ll have a false. Under 3lbs and it’s likely a true. 3-4lbs and it could be either way – if 3-4lbs and the face is flat and body is short id guess true – if that weight and pointier face , long body and longer ears I’d guess false.
Your boys are cute love the photos
I have two boys holland lops also – oAkley is true dwarf at 1.15kg ( 2.5lbs) at 8 months old
Boston I’m not sure of yet as he was 1.13kg ( 2.5lbs ) at 4 months and hasn’t been weighed since and he is now 6months old He has a very round face though so I’d be surprised if he is a false
Not that it matters at all
Your orange one looks true but your broken looks false ( the ears look longer in the photo and longer bodied ) but he’s still growing so you’ll have to wait to see once he is grown into himself more
