Yep, the time has come and I have turned into one of ‘those’ pet people. You know the type… when you leave the house and call out “love you, miss you” and your partner calls out “love you too” and your response is “not you, I was talking to the bunny”.

            “Bye-bye Bam, see you soon!”

Followed by the classic silence from said bunneh

That reminds me, when I’m at home and I hear hubby pull into the driveway after work, I say “Daddy’s home everybunny!” and “Dory, daddy’s home.” lol.

                  *walks in the door*

                  “Bunny! I’m home!”

I’m sure my neighbors think I’m off my rocker

Oh definitely! Always leave with a “love you bun, see you soon!” … I live in an apartment, people think I am nuts! But when I come home and I’m greeted with binkies and nudges I don’t care who thinks I’m crazy!!

I literally spent 10 minutes saying goodbye to Luna this morning, because I won’t see her until tomorrow. I think I gave her and my dogs more loves than my husband before I left haha.

I’m forever saying “I love you so much” for my partner to respond and I have to say sorry I was talking to the buns. It’s worse when I talk to Peanut and call him handsome or my gorgeous boy and my partner thinks I’m talking to him lol. I also every night say “goodnight Peanut, goodnight Buttercup, see you in the morning, love you both…behave”

                          Hehehe, don’t worry, we’re all mad here…

I’ve gotten several weird looks from neighbours when I started to talk to their pets. Their pets seemed to like it, I was instant friends with my neighbour’s rabbit.

Our parents ask how our kids are. We do not have children, they are talking about our pets. I’m sure our pets will be jealous when we do have children one day.
I sing them goodnight songs! To be honest I sing them songs for every meal and when they wake up. They get excited so it can’t be that bad! HAHA!

I dance with my dog, and sometimes she sings with me!

Yes! I do the ‘Daddy’s home!’ too! They get excited!

Yep. Totally that person. Before going to work (or out to the market, etc.) I always rub Chewie’s head, tell him approximately how long I’ll be gone, tell him to have a good day and be the good boy he always is, and then call out from the door ‘Love you, bunbun, see you later alligator.’

I also never let my head touch my pillow at night before calling out ‘Good night, my love.’ LOL

And first thing in the morning it’s ‘Good morning, my sweet raisin bun’ followed by the happy bunny dance (Choo, not me) and then cuddles and kisses where he’s told ‘Momma loves you, little one, to the moon and back’ – he closes his eyes and tooth purrs and presses his cheek against mine, so I assume that’s him saying ‘ditto’

This is contagious, by the way. My mom Skypes every day and is visibly disappointed if he’s hiding, and my dad, who used to ask her once in a while ‘how’s the girl?’ now asks daily ‘have you talked to my grandbun?’

I’m always saying bye to my bubbles. And happy greetings when I return, I think it’s just the bunny parent norm!!

Its funny that it’s rubbed off on current boyfriend-who is happy to tell the bunnies how much he loves them before he has to leave the house (although he’s not able to say it to me) lol!

I’ll be heard by my neighbours saying “don’t worry, it’s just mommy” as I’m entering the house because the sound of the door being unlocked is scary.

Everytime I leave, I go, “Bye, bye, you be good, okay?” and the first thing I usually do when I come home is usually go to the kitchen and say hi to them. Likewise, when I leave them for the night, I tell them, “bedtime” and they know this means I won’t see them until the morning.

My friend thinks I worry too much when I have to leave them in the evening without someone to check in on them >>. It’s a little better, since they have each other to keep each other company, but when Guinness was an only bunny I was worried about her being lonely.

Like Azerane, I’ve always been “one of those people”. My neighbors are really close and I often wonder (but don’t care ) what they think of me when I go in the bun room and the window is open and I’m talking in my “bunny voice” and singing to them.

                                        To all you newcomers

I’ve been away from the site for a while so it was so much fun to jump back on today and see all of these. My little girl is amazed (and slightly put out) that I’ve taken to going into the bunny’s room first thing in the morning to say hello to him first. I get a right lecture from her when I do this if she’s awake already  But as I explained to her, she can open her blinds – and refresh her own water – Teddy can’t.  Thought I’m not sure she’s overly happy with this explanation. Hubby has also taken to checking on Teddy during the night. When I ask him how the ‘kids’ are – he says “Oh, I only checked Teddy”! LOL – the poor child. #nolongeranonlychild

That right there is why I could never have kids. Poor things would be left to fend for themselves while I’m taking care of every detail for the animals, lol

I’ve always been one of those people. Maybe it’s because I’ve been around animals since the day I came home from the hospital.

I didn’t realize I was like this with my boys until I just moved in with my mother in-law. Every morning they’re the first I love, feed, and water. I say goodbye every morning as I  leave for work. When I come home I rush to them out. I look forward to weekends so I get all day to love them and cuddle with them. I just have this overwhelming amount of love for them, and when I look at them my heart feels like it’s about to explode in my chest.
