We recently moved and have noticed that every time we clean Clover’s box she digs most if not all of the litter out of her box and then will go in it. She’s always been particular about how much litter we put in it and will start to dig it out but never has she kicked/dug it all out!! It’s becoming very frustrating because we are having to completely change it every single day and scoop out half of the bedding in her cage, otherwise it stinks! Does anyone know why she might be doing this??

Ugh I know first hand how frustrating this can be! Does have a natural instinct to burrow, so when they find out they can dig in the satisfying litter it is often impossible to stop them.

Solution: litter screen! Seriously a life saver for me, here’s a pic of her current setup

I got the screen from here, the Binky Bunny store, you can also make your own if you are feeling like a DIY! Pretty much any small mesh will be fine, make sure to cover sharp edges, etc.

I agree with trying a litter screen. It could also be related to the recent move. Try leaving just a few of her poops in the litter box after you clean it and see if she still digs out the litter.
