  I have an 11 week old male rabbit, and he isn’t neutered because he isn’t old enough, but I plan on having him fixed as soon as he is. I’m acquiring a rabbit from a friend of a friend who can’t take care of him. He’s about a year old and he isn’t fixed either. I know it’s very difficult to bond two unneutered rabbits of either sex, but would it work out better since Oliver is so young? I don’t know if size would make a difference, but Oliver, the young one, is 2 pounds and the other male is a 3 pound Holland Lop. This isn’t long term and I plan on having both fixed, but I was wondering if they would try to injur each other with Oliver being so young.

  Rabbits can’t bond until they are sexually mature. As their hormones change they basically won’t recognise each other and will more than likely start fighting. So it wouldn’t really be safe to introduce them until they are both neutered and your youngest one is old enough. Two sexually mature neutered males can bond though so when they are ready it’s worth a try.

  It’s not possible. That’s not having them bonded. They need to be fixed. My husband and I put our boys together from the start, and they loved each other, at first. Then 2 weeks after having them, Bombur started humping Asriel. This usually happened, but that night Asriel flipped out and they got into a fight that we quickly separated. They are now in separate cages with 6 inches between them. Put their cages where they can see each other and switch their things around every so often so they get to know each other’s scents. But don’t put them together. They could get seriously injured or die if you aren’t there to break up a fight.
