I was wondering what rabbit breed you think is most like a wild European rabbit. So 2.5-4.5 pounds, very lean shape, straight ears, and obviously can have agouti colored fur. Like I have some New Zealands that look almost exactly like wild ones, but they’re not the right color. I keep mine outside in very large pens with constant hay and few pellets, and they also get fresh picked wild greens. I was thinking tan rabbits but they only come in that one pattern, no agouti.

Wild has different definition to every person. For example: The Belgian is thought to be the only breed of domestic rabbit to display a rich red or chestnut coat that’s present in the coats of wild rabbits.
The rabbit fur color is a breeding thing. To get one that looks they way you want is possible, but you’ll have a hard time finding one in a shelter and people pay a lot for a domestic that looks wild.
You also keep in mind that the color will change over time. are younger rabbit could look exactly like a wild European hair, but as he gets older his for can get darker and vice versa. Shedding also can alter Fur color. My brindle blue holland shed last winter and had very light grey fur, he shed again during summer and his spots were almost black. This summer he’s back to a blue tone but it can easily change.
          Otherwise i suggest this website:
