My rabbit is almost 4 months old and gets unlimited pellets, alfalfa hay and I tiny bit of Timothy hay. But the problem is he won’t eat his hay. He eats a tiny bit if I feed it to him but he won’t eat it out of his hay rack/litter box. He eats his pellets and veggies but not a lot of hay. I gave him a hay mat and he ate that. I’ve tried putting it in toilet paper rolls and he won’t touch it. Any suggestions?

Hay mats are usually made out of Timothy hay, so it could be that he prefers Timothy hay over Alfalfa. You could also try other hays as well (ie. orchard, meadow, oat) to see if he likes those instead.

Try Orchard Grass. That’s a big fave with a lot of bunnies. My boys eat Oxbow Orchard.
