Hi! I’m currently doing research beforehand so that I’ll be more prepared for a bunny when the time comes but since im living in a flat (Approx 120sqm) which is quite small, I was thinking if I could possibly let the play pen area be the bunny’s home. (Such that its litter box, hidey house, and everything else would be there to conserve space) I was thinking to let the play pen area be around 1.5×2metres, if theres enough space, I would give it more space though!

That sounds fine to me. As long as you have all the essentials in there, rabbits don’t need a designated cage.

Make sure the playpen is at least 3ft high, those thumpers can jump pretty high!

hi!! my two rabbits currently each have a playpen (exercise pen) for their homes!! I love this setup as it’s easy to clean, looks nice, and is bigger than almost all store bought cages!!! but I agree, you may want to put something over the playpen if it’s not over 3 ft tall. (and maybe even if it is!!! my netherland dwarf made it over our 3 ft tall ex pen!!) so I use binder clips to pin cut bed sheets over their ex pens. if you have any questions about what I said please let me know. Exercise pens are for sure my favorite type of home base that I’ve had for my rabbits!!! hopefully this helps in your decision making!!!
