Hello, everyone! I just recently got a baby bunny. she is 7 weeks on Saturday. I have bought her some wood chews and some wood sticks to chew on but she won’t chew on them so I think she is getting upset that her teeth are growing so long. since she wouldn’t chew them I bought her “Fiesta puffs” from Petsmart and she has eaten about 4 in two days. I keep giving them to her because it’s all that she will chew on. I stopped giving them to her when I noticed her droppings are dark green. I’m just worried and don’t want anything to be wrong. she is also sleeping ALOT more than usual and it moving <g class="gr_ gr_42 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="42" data-gr-id="42">her</g>

hide house and sleeping behind it in the corner. I don’t have any money to go to the vet so could I have some help? thanks so much!    (I’m a first-time bunny mom btw)

If you’re correctly feeding her plenty of hay she won’t need extra chewing toys. I’m reading those fiesta puffs are made of rice, corn and sugar which is not good for bunnies’ digestive traits, the dark green might be her expelling the ton of colorants that’s in that stuff.

Don’t give her much sugary food (carrots, pumpkin, fruit, treats like these puffs) cause not only it will make her fat but it can also upset her GI tract and promote stasis Let her have unlimited hay and good pellets (check that there’s no wheat, sugar and possibly colorants) and she’ll most likely get better. In case she hasn’t already, do take her to the vet to check that she doesn’t have coccidia (a common parasite found in baby buns) and that she’s overall fine.

baby bunnies sleep a lot as do human babies and baby dogs. If her appetite is fine, it’s not worrisome.

Is her poop normally shaped and green or is it ample green stools with mucus or musus-threads in it?

If the poop is solid and green, I think Muchelle is correct in assuming it’s due to some colorant or other. And I’d cut out the puffs. Hay is really good for a bun and all her teeth needs, really.

If on the other hand she has watery/mucos-y green stools, it’s a veterinary emergency. The green could then be due to an irritated/inflamed intestinal wall and the the diarrhea caused by coccidia or bad bacteria. A baby bun gets dehydrated very fast.

              I agree with Bam.
