I’m not sure if it’s okay to post this or if it’s the right place, so I understand if this gets removed.

Lily was found at a pet shop head swaying back and forth, she was lethargic. Employees were alerted several days in a row about her weird behavior. The days went by and she looked worse. I was told by an employee that “She wouldn’t have been put on the floor if she was sick.” I knew differently being a mother of a few bunnies. She was definitely not well. There was no way I could afford another bunny but I couldn’t let her stay there. After several days of going back to check on her, I decided it was time to take her. This family owned “respectable” pet shop decided to lower the price on all rabbits being sold there. That felt like the final straw, I rescued (I know I purchased) Lily from the store with her sister, Lulu who was housed with her. I felt it was the right thing to do, but now I’m faced with extra vet bills as well as a bunny condo for the two of them to live. She will be loved here with her bunny family and two bunny loving parents. I vow to never shop at a pet shop that sells animals again. Thank you for taking the time to read this we really appreciate it.

Lily and Lulu are lucky you found them. And I would still say that you “rescued” them; the fact that you paid money to get them out of that pet shop doesn’t mean you didn’t rescue them .

It’s good that you got Lily and Lulu out of that bad situation. Are there any local agencies that you can report this pet store to?

Thank you guys for the kind words, to the parent of Oakley, what did you find out he had? We are treating Baytril for atleast 2 weeks and then doing a recheck. It might be a month of baytril total, I wasn’t totally into doing to scans as she would have been under aneshtiesa.

I will be reporting them and writing a letter to the owner. I’m just concectrating on healing Lily and loving both sisters. They started out not letting me touch them because of fear… and now they bow for pets. It gets better everyday.

I’m worried I won’t be able to afford some things without a little help, because we are a family of six lovely bunnies as two bunny slave parents

              mahalo.

Aww this is so sweet. I hope the two bunny sisters get better and continue to do well. It’s amazing and heartwarming what you did to save them

That is so sad… it’s heartbraking to think how many of these sweet creatures are mistreated out there. Thank you for having such a good heart.

I hope you can update us with news of further improvements. Did the vet who saw Lily definitely rule out E.Cuniculi? I only ask because it’s potentially very contagious and you have a whole fluffle.
