Alright so this is just a curious question.

Bunz has her very own blanket that she has when she is out for playtime. She loves it. She bites it, She shakes it

        She absolutely ADORES it.

I think it is okay to let her have her very own blanket, so basically my question is

is it okay to let my bunny have her own blanket?

As long as she isn’t eating it, it should be find, biting and eating are different things, but if she’s purposely trying to chew and swallow bits of blanket then it would probably be a bad idea for her to keep it

But if she’s just biting and playing with it she will be fine! My rabbits adore blankets

            Vincent,

Yes all she is doing is biting and playing with the blanket so it should be okay

            Thank you!

How adorable! Fleece blankets are good because they don’t have threads, they’re less likely to cause trouble if the bun should happen to ingest a little bit of the material. (But as Vincent says, she mustn’t like actually set out to eat it, of course).

Digging and shaking and scrunching up and dragging a blanket can be lots of fun for a rabbit. After a while the blanket can become rather worn, so when I had a bun that adored blankets I used to buy the cheapest fleece blankets I could get and keep in store as replacements. A fleece blanket can take many washings, but there comes a day when it just looks too bad =)

Tony has one too and he loves it. Weirdly, he never lies on it, but biting, licking, digging, and dragging it around all seem like super fun. I don’t see the harm as long as it’s not getting eaten (and as long as it’s not important to you! If it’s a family heirloom or something expensive that’s a different story ?)

This goes a little off topic, but my bunny has a towel in his cage and I can’t tell if he’s eating or just chewing. He doesn’t bite it at all anymore, but sometimes when he comes across blankets, pillows, etc. I see him picking at it, but I don’t know if he’s eating it or not. It worries me because I want him to be able to roam around my room, but not if he’s ingesting things.

Is he licking the blanket? I had a bun who was obsessed with licking blankets and fabric.

Guinevere likes to rearrange her towel. Lancelot “bites at” like u describe, but he is just playing with his blanket. His favorite is a small knitted blankie. He does.t eat it, just mouths at it, moves it around, and licks it. Quite normal what u r describing.
