        Hi all

I have my first litter of kits which are 11 days old. They seem to be scratching around their ears quite a lot. I’m wondering if they have mites, although I have thoroughly checked them over and can’t see anything obvious. There is no flakey skin, ears are clean and no loss of fur as yet. I have also checked mum over and she seems fine and is not scratching at all. Is this normal behaviour for kits? Could it be anything else. TIA.

I couldn’t say for certain but I do seem to remember others reporting this with young kits and it seemingly an normal grooming behaviour. You might like to ask your question HERE also as it’s a section dedicated to the rabbitry on another forum. A lot of the members there would have more experience with litters and kits. Hope that helps!
