So my rabbits love digging on the carpet or basically anything remotely soft so I decided to try making a dig box for them and read that tissue is good for these

The type of tissue I got is white wrapping paper tissue (the kind yoy put in a present bag or something?)

And they have both been eating it after digging so I’ve removed the tissue for now since I’m concerned about it.

Is that type of paper okay for them to eat? Should I try a different paper? Should I remove the digging box all together?

They both are really enjoying digging in it so I would like to keep it but only if there’s a safe paper to put in there.

        Thanks!

The problem is in the amount they eat. If a rabbit eats a lot of non-food like paper or cardboard, it can cause an intestinal blockage.

You could try torn up or shredded newspaper. You could also cut up old fleece blankies or really cheap new fleece blankies. Since they seem to love the digging so much, it’d be a pity to not let them have a dig box at all.

Thanks bam! I think I’ll try the fleece shreds next!
