Hey everyone, since a few weeks ago my bunny has become very very affectionate. He’s grown to love strokes and cuddles. Whenever I come to his cage in the morning to say hello and let him out for a run he honks at me and runs around the cage in circles, as soon as I open the door he comes straight to me and starts licking my hands – he does it for ages. At first I thought he was doing it for the salt, so I bought him a salt lick but unfornately he didn’t like it that much. – he liked the rope it was attached to more lol. So my question is, is he doing this for the salt or for affection? There are a lot of mixed ideas on this. ?

He’s most likely doing it for affection. We can’t really ask, but you tested with a salt lick, and he wasnt interested in the salt.

How old is your bun? Is he neutered or could he be hitting puberty? Honking and circling are signs of bunny courtship.

He’s around 4 months old and he hasn’t been neutered – since he’s been displaying this behaviour he’s been so affectionate with me.
