Hi everyone, my name is Marisa and I am new to BinkyBunny! I have snooped around on the forums and other posts in the past, and decided to join.

Maya is a broken colored miniature lop rabbit, and she was born in January 2016. She has been through a lot already in the short time she’s been around, so we are working on socializing and she has done amazing with litter box training. For a little more on her background feel free to send me a message, and read her background on my profile!

I also welcome any tips, suggestions, or advice anyone might have. I am a first time rabbit owner and could use a little help :p i will post more photos when I get on my computer

Thank you so much for your reply! She is doing very well and we have bonded a lot over the past week. As things have settled down and she has begun to trust me and her environment, I decided to get her a friend! Her name is Elvira, and she is 3.6LBs. They are not entirely sure of an age, between 1-2 years. She is what the shelter believes to be a lionhead/dwarf. I am looking into DNA kits to swab their mouths and send in to know for sure, one day They have been introduced, and are both currently put up for sleeping during the night. I suspect with some time they will become great friends Elvira is a spunky little thing.

Spunky buns have great personalities, and I’m sure Elvira will help add to Maya’s confidence. It’s great that they are getting along with each other, but buns cannot properly bond until after they are spayed. The hormones will cause them to fight and injury each other. For now, they must be separated. They can stay next to each other in separate cages, but the cages must have a sufficient gap in between them so that they cannot bite each other through the bars. The “Bonding” section under “Bunny Info” has some good additional information .
