Can anyone please help me on how to get my bunny to gain weight and muscle, he has been to the vet but they don’t know what is wrong and I will be going to a new one soon, but for the meanwhile does anyone have any ideas on weight gain

to gain weight you should feed nutrient rich food like alfalfa grass. Muscle is a different story as your bunny will need to gain the weight first and get enough exercise to grow healthy muscle. I put boxes in my enclosures so the bunnies can hop off and on which helps them keep their muscles. I also give them enough free time to roam outside their cage to exercise.

Even though seeds are generally not recommended for a rabbit, sometimes it is advised to try giving them some sunflower seeds (plain, hulled) or pumpkin seeds. Sunflower seeds have a high fat content, which could help with weight gain. You shouldn’t start feeding such things until you discuss it with a vet, though. Did your vet perform any tests to see what could cause your rabbit to be underweight and have poor muscle tone? Is this an older rabbit? Hopefully another vet will have some answers for you.
