  I just recently receive a yorkie last night by one of my neighbor and I don’t want to send her back to where she came from. The previous owner got the yorkie from an animal shelter and I am asking what is the best way to introduce my new yorkie to my bun. My bun are free roam house rabbit and they do not sleep in the cage at all. Please provide me any tips on how I should introduce the yorkie to my buns. Since my bun is the first animal that occupied my home. Thanks much

  I wouldn’t introduce them until the yorkie is settled in. After that, I would have the yorkie separated by a barrier that he and the buns can see each other through. Depending on how they react, if you decide to take it to the next step and introduce them without a barrier, put the yorkie on a leash and be close on the ground in case you have to restrain him.
  
  I would take the whole process very slowly and wouldn’t allow any physical contact unless there is human supervision, the buns aren’t fearful, and the yorkie is calm. Not to judge a book by its cover, but remember that yorkies are of the terrier breed – terriers have been bred to hunt small animals. Focus on safety first, then later on you can address any territorial concerns .
