I have had Stella (double mane lionhead) for nearly 2 years and she has always been shy and liked to hang out under my bed for most of the day. In January I adopted a second rabbit, Benny (mini lop, approx 1.5 years old). I have assumed they were bonded because they share a space and I often find them grooming each other,  but I do notice that Benny chases Stella and she will run away with her tail wagging every time. She also seems to be a bit more scared of me petting her and she often tries to get away, where before Benny she would be more comfortable with me petting her. Is this because I don’t spend enough time with her potentially (I am out for most of the day)? Is she not actually bonded with Benny? Tips?

        Thank you!

When I was bonding Clover and Dawn, I ended up not seeing Dawn, except for brief visits to the food bowls and litter boxes, for a week.

There was some chasing, some thumping, a few grunts and growls, but they pretty much sorted out their status within a week, week and a half.  Dawn still tries to dominate Clover by humping her head, which Clover tolerates until she gets fed up and launches Dawn across the room with a toss of her head.  But they get along great now, which I’m still amazed at seeing as they’re both unfixed females.

For the longest time I thought they were unhappy, given they were constantly chasing each other all around the living room, until dumb ol’ me realized they were playing with each other.
