I noticed bun digging and scratching and after parting hairs found some flea dirt. I’m not surprised, it happens I know. My friend with a ferret treated hers for fleas by getting kitten sized revolution and doing 1 drop per pound. I got a kitten sized revolution for kittens under 5lb (Google said revolution and advantage were bunny safe) and applied 3 drops since he’s around 3lb. I think there’s enough for next month’s dose as well. I noticed 24 hours later there was a moving flea on him when I was combing through his fur. I use revolution for my cats and it works amazingly. I hope I didn’t underdose him, but at the same time don’t want to use the whole thing and risk making him sick… though it’s designed for kittens under 5lb. Hmmmmm  Do you guys do something similar or what methods do you use at home?

The medication must either hit the flea directly, or it will be killed (or unable to reproduce) by feeding on the bun, because Revolution has systemic action.

The active substance in Revolution is selamectin. Medirabbit recommends a dose of 15-18 mg/kg but also say some vets prefer to use a lower dose, 6 mg/kg.

Here’s info that has a chart if you scroll down. The cats under 5 lb package should be mauve. It contains 15 mg selamectin. That would give a 3 pound bun a dose of 5 mg/pound. The standard recommended MINIMUM dose is 2,7 mg/pound.

I hope this was of some use.
