I woke up this morning and found my rabbit ears have gone floppy at the tips. She seems fine within herself. anyone know why this is?

Is your rabbit young? Some lops have their ears drop in the first few months of life. Otherwise, I’m not sure about the floppy ear thing… she has no other symptoms?

                How very odd!

If she’s not displaying any signs of ill health, I’d just monitor her for now. She’s terribly cute with ears like that.

I found this on another forum:

                  http://forums.rabbitrehome.org.uk/showthread.php?431843-What-causes-floppy-ear-tip

They talk about floppy ear maybe being caused by dehydration or an illness, but I don’t think that applies if it is just the tips. The pictures at the end of the page seem the most relevant. Someone posted pics of a similar rabbit, who then progressed to being a full lop-eared bun. Perhaps she is on her way to becoming more like her mum

My Yohio once got one lop ear after a fight, but it lopped all the way from the base (and it went up again in less than a week). I think Thor’s suggestion sounds very reasonable, that it’s the lop gene from the mama that’s kicking in. We’ll love updates!
