        Hello all,

I’m a bit new to being a bun mom, and I’m wondering if my bun is the correct weight. She’s a 5 month old Dutch. I am not sure on exactly how much she weighs right now, but I would say she is definitely between 2-2.5lbs. She is free range of my apartment so she can get as much exercise as she likes. She gets a heaping pile of Timothy hay every day, along with 1 TBSP of pellets in the morning, 1 cup of romaine lettuce daily and basil or parsley as snacks. I give either a few small slices of banana or 2 dried cranberries as treats 2-3 times a week. I have looked to the internet to determine what an average target weight is for her age, but unfortunately I cannot decide what is accurate and what is not. She has an appointment to be spayed on June 23, at which time she will be one week from 6 months. It seems to me that she has just grown exponentially in the last two months, and I’m wondering that that is normal. I check her poop daily and it seems to be completely normal from what I have seen as guidelines.

I haven’t come across that chart yet! She seems to be in the ideal category. I can still easily feel hip bones, spine and shoulder blades. She has just grown so much lately that I waondered if she was gaining too much. I understand that she is young so now is the time she will be tacking on weight and then we manage it. Thanks for providing that reference!
