I am currently saving to get my bunnies fixed, but I came home today to realize that may have to happen sooner. My bunny, Zel, has been nipping at Benji’s testicles. They’re not severely bleeding, but there is a small amount and it certainly looks sore. In defense, Benji has been ripping Zel’s fur out. I know I would. They’re staying separated and Benji doesn’t apoear to be in too much pain as he is still playing. He did not eat the fur. I’m calling the vet tomorrow about it, but i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on something I could put on Benji until I can get him to the vet? Should i try to put something on his bottom to cover him up? Any help is appeciated!

Maybe some Neosporin would be helpful for the wound. Just use the plain kind, not the kind with pain reliever added. Hopefully, you can get in to see the vet tomorrow. Benji may need an antibiotic.

It’s good that you are keeping them separated now. Besides risking more injuries, you may not be able to bond your rabbits if they continue to fight and injure one another. Rabbits can hold grudges and they can decide that they don’t ever want anything to do with the other if they develop a grudge. Don’t even let them out together for exercise. They will have to take turns.

After their surgeries, wait about a month for the hormones to die down, then start the bonding process. You still have to go through the bonding routine even though they were together before.

Thank you so much! I’m going to go get some neosporin right after dinner. They’ve never acted like this before! So weird how fast bunnies can change their attitude towards each other. I’m just glad I got to Benji before Zel could do any serious injuries, its very minor abrasions right now but I am still going to take him to the vet to be sure. Thanks for the help!
