        Hello,

I have seen, that there already a few threads about this but I was hoping I could maybe get individual advice anyway.
I have had my bunnies for a little over a year now and I don’t know anymore how I could try to entertain them. I do barely see them doing anything else than sleeping/lying around, cuddling and eating. They do not have a cage, so they can roam around freely in my whole 1-room apartment. They didn’t like the slippery tiles on the floor, so I put carpets everywhere and they can run around (and if I wake up early I can see them run around like crazy and binky, so I guess they aren’t too unhappy). But apart from these 5 minutes of energy they don’t do anything.
When looking for ways to keep bunnies busy many people recommend making your own toys from paper and cardboard. However, while my bunnies absolutely LOVE to jump up and down on cardboard boxes, hide in them and (this is their favourite part) shred them into little pieces, they also love to munch on them. They eat so much that they didn’t touch their hay for 2 whole weeks until i realized what was happening. They also ate little other food, so I don’t really want to give them anything with paper, because I doubt cardboard is all that healthy. I tried to supplement with hayhouses to eat and a cat tree to jump on but it just isn’t the same.
I put the cat tree next to one of these cubes to sit on and they jump up there once a day but ignore it completly the rest of the time. I created many different other oppotunities to jump up on something but they don’t care about those.
Picking apart a hayhouse is fun too, but only for a few minutes.
I bought little balls to roll around, but unless there are treats in it – no interest.
I have a little broom and shovel for stray poop and they like to pick them apart and toss the broom. Any other items i bought for them that they can throw around – nope, those are boring.
They can be quite clever so I thought I could try clickertraining or at least these intelligence toys. But as soon as treats get involved all hell breaks loose and they too much to actually get anything done (the lady bunny is also deaf, so she doesn’t understand the point of clickertraining at all and just knows “there are treats and I’m not getting any! ” so she bites Mr. Bunny’s butt until he runs away…)
I got them tunnels for cats and for bunnies and they like to look inside them when they walk past but that’s it.
The only thing that gets them excited is when I rearrange my room. I have moved around all my furniture at least 7 times since I have the buns and each time they were exploring and sniffing around and peeking in every corner, standing in my way, jumping on things i want to move,… Basically, they were super active and interested. This holds on for 2 or 3 days and then back to normal bored bunny life. But my furniture is heavy and I also don’t have time to move everything around every week. But I also don’t want my floofs to be bored. I sometimes put big items at random places in my room and move chairs around but that barely keeps their interest for a minute. Now that it gets warmer I open the balcony for them (I also put some of their wooden tunnels and a hayhouse there, so it feels a bit more like home, because they are a little scared of outside ) and Mr. Bunny likes to hop outside for a few seconds every day. This can’t be it, though.
Does anyone have any advise? I know they don’t play like cats or dogs, but just being lazy all day doesn’t seem very natural either…

honestly bunnies don’t really do much. while it is important to have them do things for enrichment they really are quite lazy most of the day. The best toys i have found that will absolutely work are treat balls or the easy dog iq test toys. I just fill them up with their normal pellets and it keeps them entertained for a while. I would also try a dig box. a cardboard box with shredded paper or sand so long as they don’t eat it is fine. Just be sure your lazy bunns aren’t lethargic because that’s cause for serious concern.

My rabbit is the same way.
He likes cardboard with treats and chew sticks and his log snack. That’s about it.

He’s so lazy but he’s happy so it’s all good.

He gets excited when I rearrange things too lol.
