So, someone‘s decided to get a pretty bad colic tonight. It’s just turned 4a.m. and he’s gotten massages with his butt up, a session of butt grooming (since I had it in my hand), farted and done noises a-plenty. I gave him a dose of metacam for the pain and force fed him some water, then he went to drink by himself.

I shouldn’t be this psyched since it’s not the first time K is having gas problems, but after what happened recently I have to say I’m pretty anxious. The fact he’s not been wanting to eat for the past 4 hours or so is driving me crazy… (he had his pellet dinner and later only accepted a raisin and would have wanted more, but nope, not happening lol)

I’ll keep watching him another half an hour and then go to bed and hope I don’t have to run to the vet tomorrow or worse. Also tomorrow is national holiday over here, so… yey =___=

On top of all this, he’s shedding again, fml

Have you tried Simethicone? I think it works well. Some nights I can hear Lancelot’s belly sounds from the other side of the room – and loud. As long as he is still eatin, a cc of simethicone calms down his belly. If he has stopped eating, I give him simethicone with each syringe feed.

Don’t have it ready on hand, cause I found out the bottle I had is expired… I’ll grab a new bottle tomorrow if any pharmacy is open. I sure hope by morning he’s eaten his stuff cause I really don’t want to start the around the clock feeding routine twice in the same semester…

Yeah syringe feeding is time consuming. I actually went to the grocery store yesterday and picked up 2 bottles of simethicone – I don’t want to run out of the stuff.

Depending on how expired it is, a family friend who works in pharma r&d told us that most meds are good months if not years past the printed expiration date.

                  But either way, (((Kuro)))
C’mon, your darkness…. even mighty lords don’t torment their slaves on holiday weekends

Yeah, I usually don’t mind expiration dates, but the bottle hasn’t been in the best conditions… so I didn’t risk it.
I think he swallowed air by drinking too fast from his bottle. I sure hope he doesn’t do it again, cause after his furball problem I really don’t want to switch him back to the bowl.

Anyways, he was fine the morning after =_= sometimes I wonder if he has munchausen syndrome

Muchelle, that would really be something for Medirabbit. “Kuro, the Italian Munchausen Syndrome Rabbit, a Case Report”.

He’s already getting to star in a vet report for his miraculous survival to gastrectomy (performed in under 20 minutes) while being in super-critical conditions, he was about comatose… I guess I can ring them up and ask to add the mental pathology as well. I have a suspicion they could mention me as well in the mental illness paragraph xD

I’m just glad he’s feeling well again.

Yeah lol. I’ve also decided to give him a daily heavy duty fur plucking until he’ll be done molting (AGAIN!!!). Today’s harvest was another bun in lighter color. I might open a topic where to complain about stripping-duties

Bam just decided to have another big shed, so I certainly sympathize.

Chew just finished his second (unexpected) one too. What is it with them this year? Extra hot summer ahead or something??
