Hey guys! My daughter has a rabbit that we made a cage for in her closet. It has a wooden front door and a small “rabbit door” for him to get in and out of. But. I’m having a really hard time finding a good water dispenser that we can use for him. His bunny home doesn’t have any wire sides, so we can’t attach it to those, and he won’t use the bottle type thing. I’ve tried multiple dishes of various sizes and he always knocks them over, which not only takes away his water until I realize it’s spilled, but it usually soaks his pellets, hay, and himself.

Does anyone have any ideas I might not have thought of?

        Thanks so much in advance!!

Did you try using a heavy ceramic bowl in the corner?

I’m not sure what the bottle type thing is, but you can get the automatic water dispensers with the upside down bottle flowing into a bowl, usually used for dogs: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=dog+water+dispenser&rlz=1C1CHBD_en-GBAU703AU703&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi_uarNqJvUAhVCUZQKHXqNCE0Q_AUICygC&biw=1777&bih=855#imgrc=bqWwGgiTAa3WgM:
which while full I imagine would be tough to tip over.

I use a big heavy ceramic dog bowl, my buns have never tipped it over. One like this: http://cache.petstuffgalore.co.uk/images/shop/product_images/549/ceramic-dog-bowl.jpg
It looks oversized for a pair of rabbits, and it is a big bowl, but they don’t tip it and between the pair of them, they almost empty it once a day.

Yes, and he knocked that over, too. He is such a brute and destructive without meaning to be.. I need something that latches on, but we don’t have a wire cage. The struggle is real.

Could you somehow attach wire to one of the doors or something? Probably not but my bunny is the same way with water bowls. The only kind that work for him are plastic bowls where there’s a screw in on one side of the wire with the bowl on the other.

I use 3 lb. strength velcro tape

Put one piece on the floor and one on the bottom of a wood block, then one piece on top of the wood block and one on the bottom of the bowl. Luna’s bowl doesn’t move an inch.

Last night, I was thinking about this and had the idea of making a box with solid sides, cutting a hole in the top and putting a bowl with a fair sized lip around it, and like Luna stated, to Velcro it to the box. this might not work, as it was a 1 am thought!
