My flemish Giants, Pam and Larry, are both gone as of Saturday morning I will forever blame myself. They were both four years old. Pam died of pneumonia in March. And Larry just died on Saturday of Flystrike and heatstroke. They were both fine and healthy all this time outside. Then it was like the walking dead just came and killed them both :'( and I couldn’t save them because they were too far gone by the time I got them to the vet. They died before their time. I know they did. And I’m forever broken over their deaths that I never expected. I had to put both of them down within two months of each other. They went peacefully, but their loss is agonizing when you start thinking of all the things I should have done or looked for. Flystrike is deadly. And I had no idea that wet, missing fur around the tail and bottom is a sign. I just didn’t know :'( it was too late when Larry was taken into the vet. I know that flemish Giants are like the Great Danes in the rabbit community. But four is way too young I’m heartbroken beyond words. I’ll post pictures of my babies. They were beautiful white and Sandy.

I’m not sure if you are religious or not, but know that I will be praying for you.

I’m so sorry . Losing both your buns within two months of each other must be so hard. I can’t imagine.

Sometimes learning curves can be tough.
Pam and Larry are together again and maybe one day, when you are ready, you can open your heart and home to two more big buns.

This might be a relief for you. Animals (including rabbits) have different perception of time. That four years for you could be 40 for them in their brains. And to spend 40 years with a person like you, who loved them so much, this is a bliss. You should never blame yourself.
