        Hi,
2 weeks ago my rabbit kept having fits and her back legs would be paralised. We took her to the vets and she said she had a parasite on the brain.
We have been giving her panacur for 14 days now and got ten more to go. She has stopped having fits and not becoming paralysed but she is now terrified of everything.
We only need to step towards her and she goes crazy trying to get away from anyone that moves. I’ve tried sitting in the floor and waiting for her to come to me but she won’t come near me anymore. Is this normal as she did have about 15 fits in 2 days. Or do I need to take her back to the vets?
        Thank you

EC can do some weird things. It can cause lesions in the brain or nervous system. Some of the effects of EC are permanent, even after treatment. Why she is acting so scared is anyone’s guess. She could simply be wary/skittish because she thinks you’ve going to give her medicine. She could also be having difficulty seeing. Or it could be something else related to the EC.

If she’s otherwise eating/pooping/etc and acting normally. then I would wait until you’ve finished her treatment to see if she’s still doing it at that time.

My boy has ec and he was treated with a 6 week course – it does not sound like your bun has been prescribed a long enough course – 24 days will not be enough – I would talk to the vet about this as his symptoms may come back tenfold if meds are stopped that soon
