Hi, Im very concerned. I had a rabbit for 3 years that was kept inside in a cage. I wanted her to have more room to run, dig, and play, so i bought her a hutch with a rabbit run, and she seemed happier at first, but after 4 weeks the weather has risen to temperatures of 85 degrees, and she dug a really deep hole. We haven’t seen her in two days, and when I checked her water bottle it was empty.

Is it possible that she crawled in the hole and died? I can’t find another hole any where outside the cage. Please help!

Always safer to keep rabbits inside for reasons such as this. Not to be rude, but you clearly didnt research outdoor hutches enough if this happened. You cant just buy a hutch and put a rabbit in it. It needs to have proper insulation, cool spaces, warm spaces, space to run, space to dig but not too deep, everything needs to be blocked enough that she cant get out, but other animals also cannot get in, ect. Temps above 80 can also send a rabbit into shock, cause heart attacks, and/or strokes, especially if the rabbit is not used to temps that high and is not being properly cared for food and water wise.

I’m very perplexed by this. What on earth happened? I don’t understand at all.
