        I need some advice!

This little guy is Frank! Recently I noticed that his poops are a lot smaller than normal, and when I compare them to my other buns, they are smaller too. I’m really worried that this could be the beginning of GI stasis (I hope not). He hasn’t seem interested in his food right away like he normally is, and I’ve even given him his favorite (kale) and he picks at it, then leaves it be. I feed them twice daily, about 1/3 cup of pellets in the morning (7-8am), and greens in the evening, typically a mixture of either kale, green/red leaf lettuce and parsley or cilantro (7-8pm). I refill the hay in their bins every morning and evening.

Now, even though he doesn’t eat his food right away, when I come home in the evening the pellets are gone, and when I wake up in the morning most of his veggies are gone (except the stems because he doesn’t like them). I gave him ~0.1 mL of simethicone this morning and rubbed his tummy for about 5-10 minutes and about 30 minutes ago I gave him 1 mL of simethicone and rubbed his belly. He is now running around our apartment, running his chin on things, I should mention we just moved.

Please please help! I’m really nervous for my baby!

The only time you should panic is if there is no poops for 12-24 hours. If he’s pottying and running and shunning he’s most likely fine. When you come home and see full food and 1-2 pellets then you should worry. He just might be a slow digester which depends on age. My rabbit at 3.5 months only makes big potty in the mornings and late at night

I disagree completely. Other factors can indicate sickness and should not be overlooked. For example, my Buttercup was seemingly right as rain last Saturday, eating and pooping well. Then she suddenly looked in discomfort (pushing tummy to the ground, couldn’t stay in one position, kept shifting) She then refused her favourite treat. Within an hour she was at the emergency vet and began treatment because her tummy had slowed right down.

I agree that sickness can come on quickly! But it sounds like you are being super attentive to small things that could indicate sickness, and that is good. If he is still eating, drinking, pooping and acting healthy, I would just continue to keep a close eye on him. I would hesitate to go to the vet at this point, since the extra stress may exacerbate his digestive issues. If he does stop pooping or eating: vet right away!

Moves can be tough on bunnies. Thor had small poops for a few days when we first got her home and I was really worried (called vet and shelter where she came from). After some time she returned to normal eating/pooping so we felt lucky

If he is just picking at food and it takes him a long time to eat, he could be having teeth issues. Is he housed with other bunnies? Are you sure that he is eating the food and not another one of your bunnies?

Other indications that he could be having teeth or mouth problems would be if his mouth is wet from drooling or if you see food falling out of his mouth when he eats.

It might be a good idea to go ahead and make a vet appointment to check on his GI system and his teeth.

I have him and a female named Anna! Neither of them are fixed, so they don’t get to get out together, but their houses are next to each other, so they bump noses and play, just seperated! She can’t be eating his food though!

I’m very hesitant to take to the vet because the last bunny I had, I took to the vet, a specilist in the area, and they broke my bunnies back!
