  I bought a play pen about 34 square feet inside, I’m trying to figure out what to do for flooring since it will be set up in the basement on concrete. I was thinking a large straw mat but have no idea where to find this! Anyone have suggestions? I was also thinking of those rubber gym mats but she’s a chewer.. Also I’m in Canada so hopefully something that I can get here or order here.

  I don’t have any suggestions for large-scale flooring, but some flooring options Wick enjoys in my wood-laminate rooms are:
  
  1) Cheap, small sized rugs. No threads on the rugs, they’re just small, cheap fluff squares.
  2) Chef’s Mat – The special mats people buy to put in their kitchen that’s slightly cushion-y. Wick likes this a lot… also because it’s by the refrigerator.
  3) Large rug – I have a general, large rug and Wick seems fine on it as well.

  Good idea, I’m sure a second hand rug will be a good and inexpensive option. Thanks!

  Fleece is a nice soft flooring for bunnies. Since the fibers are so short they can’t tear it apart and chew fleece like most fabrics. Maybe you could get some rubber mats and cover them with fleece and/or second hand rugs to prevent chewing?

  I use Memory Foam Bath Mats. Comfy and great for preventing sore hocks. As with anything new, keep an eye at first to make sure bunny is not chewing.
