I’ve looked through the forums but haven’t found anything like this so I decided to set up an account to explain what’s happening. My bunny was running around my room as she normally does, binkying and things. She laid down so I picked her up and laid down in bed with her (shes ok with being picked up and handled, she loves affection). I noticed that she seems very alert and is breathing much more rapidly than normal. She is laying down but her breathing is worrying me. Do you think this is something I need to worry about? If so, I’ll take her to the vet immediately. I can’t tell if shes just tired from running around or if something is up.

Either overheating or over exercising. Shouldnt be an issue as long as her breathing goes back to normal in an hour or two

It does seem that they are sometimes breathing incredibly fast. Even when they are lounging. We just need to remember that they have a breathing rate of 30 to 60/minute while we have a breathing rate of 12 -20/minute.
