In the summer I am going to my family’s house for about a week and they live 2 1/2 hours away so I can’t come back and feed my bunny. I would really like to take my bunny with me but my family smokes in there house and I didn’t think this would be good for my bunny since I hate the smell of smoke I don’t think my bun would like it either.i can get friends to come over but they can’t/won’t take my bunny out so he would be in his cage all week which would be horrible for him. So I’m wondering if the smoke would be bad for him and if I should or should not take him.

Is there a rabbit rescue near you? Some shelters do rabbit boarding, which can be a good option since then you can have someone knowledgeable look after your bun 24/7. I’m not sure about rabbits and smoke, no experience with that…

Since you have friends that can come over to feed/water him, is it possible to buy a pen and attach it to his cage?

I thought about that but then I realized they would not be able to get him back in his cage since he loves being out so much that it’s hard to get him back in. Also my pen is only 24in high and he could easily jump it I’ve tried putting a sheet over it but he always chews on the ends that hang out of the pen or he also likes jumping up at the top.

                How big is his cage?

His cage is 46x22x24 and I know it’s to small that’s why when I’m home he has his pen out connected to the cage and he goes into a spare room for playtime.

Any area of the house that you can close off for your rabbit and provide ventilation? A fan and/or open screen door/window will help if you choose to bring the rabbit with you.
