So far when I vacuum my room I’ve been taking my bunny out. Will my bunny get scared if I vacuum with him in my room? Should I keep taking him out?

It depends on the rabbit. And probably on the vacuum too. My Bam doesn’t mind the vacuum, I can even vacuum inside his cardboard house when he’s in it.

My rabbit chases the vacuum She is quite weird though, I do take her out of the room when I do a full vacuum so that she doesn’t chew on the cord.

I’d say test him with your vacuum, starting far away and getting a bit closer to see if he gets scared. If he doesn’t mind then it might be fine to leave him in the room.

My buns are used to the vacuum at this point. Blue could care less as long as Im not going in his direction. If I have to go where he is at, I tell him to move and he will move away for me to clean that spot. Bombur is fine with it as long as he is 5+ feet away from it; he thinks its funny to watch. Badger doesnt care. Ive booped him lightly with the vacuum before and he just looked at me with a sassy expression because he didnt want to move. He hates the hose for it though. I use the hose to clean the hay dust from their cages, so if Badger sees me pull out the hose, he will attack it

I second Thorbunny’s advice to start far away, and gradually move closer. I did this for my bunny, and I am able to vacuum her room, no problem

My guy does not care one bit about the vacuum. But then again my Hanz is phased by nothing. It probably just depends on the bun tho.

Both of mine don’t seem to mind. It’s understand able with Leopold since he’s deaf. But Wooly doesn’t care either. And yes, I’ve sucked them with the vacuum hose.

Not really. It typically happens when someone is being too lazy to move out of the way. They get up, that’s for sure! But they will both just start following me around after that. Sniffing the vacuum, nose bonking it, etc. I sometimes wonder if anything would make them mad. Well, aside from the vet and meds, if course.

Luna is the same way! Her and Thor really are twins .

They get used to it. At first, my bunnies ran in panic. After vacuuming every weekend, they learned that it wasn’t going to eat them. They still don’t like the noise, but they don’t panic anymore. They just hunker down, sit tight, and wait for it to all be over. Lancelot is deaf/blind and is blissfully unaware of the vacuum.

I’ve had three house rabbits exposed to the vacuum cleaner.  All three have different personalities, but neither gets fussed about the vacuum cleaner.
