My Alto needs to be brushed at least every other day, Im assuming. He sheds enough that it collects on the floor of his cage and in his free roaming areas. Ive used a flea comb, which didnt collect anything.. and Ive used this plastic slicker brush from Drs. Foster and Smith that doesnt do a darn thing for collecting either.. its useless.

Sooooo—- what brush should i try next?

        Thanks in advance!

Because I am quite possibly a crazy bunny lady, Alfie has his own Mason & Pearson brush. He loves being brushed, he hunkers down with his eyes closed and purrs quite loudly.

hair buster comb and a soft bristle brush. the second gets the loose guard hairs, and my buns also really like how it feels.

Olly has a brush from the pet shop, it didn’t have any special name, when I saw the title of the thread I laughed and thought’which bunny brush do you try to use on your binky bunny’ Olly takes his brush out of my hand and puts it back in his grooming bag and gives me the ‘No’ look.

Haha! Yes, Wooly tries to grab the comb out of my hand and discard it by giving it a toss.

These days I use my hands to pluck him and then an IKEA lint roller to pick up whatever strays I may have missed.

I use a combination of a furminator, plastic comb, and lint roller. Also just ordered a glove brush to give it a try.

The Hairbuster Comb works great on Sterling’s short fur. He hates it and growls at me but it’s the best brush to use on him. And for Bindi, I use a small slicker brush and wide, rotating tooth comb.

Where do you guys find the hairbuster comb? I cant seem to find it anywhere, except amazon for almost $20 — thats just too much for a brush.

I believe the only other place it’s available is on this site at the BB store.

I found a video on YouTube where you can make a DIY hairbuster version using a rubberband if interested:

I use a rubber/silicone bristle brush. Kind of like the kong zoom groom for cats, but it has lots of thin bristles closer together. Works a treat since the rubber gently grips the fur.

I wish I could find a slicker brush with rounded bristle heads – I want the bristle density without the scratchiness of the raw bristles.

Q8, do you have access to amazon? There’s plenty on there.

Just this second (after reading thislost and finally ordering) bought a ZakPets deshedding tool
All 4 fur monsters are shedding enough fur to make a fifth fur monster each day and fur parent is getting a bit fed up….. so let’s see what this 4000+ X 5star review.
I am aware to be gentle with it…..
but if anything helps, it will get a thumbs up from me.
If it doesn’t, I may change the digit….

‘Zoom Groom’ rubber curry !!! Use it it circular motion. It’s really gentle and the hairs stick to it like a magnet. I’ve also used a furminator. But the runner one is the best.

My little guy’s fur’s long enough where ANYthing in a circular motion will tangle him like crazy, poor thing. Funny though – I was at the pet store today and happened to spot the Zoom Groom. Ended up finding a tiny slicker brush with dense thin metal tines that have plastic-capped ends. Just like I wanted! It’s for hamsters and piggies, so I’m glad I happened to walk down that aisle. I have yet to spring it on my monster, though.

Az: I can order from Amazon and have it forwarded to Kuwait, but don’t like to buy for the creature without seeing it in person.
