Basil the bunny and my 9 year old son (his favourite human) have been playing hide and seek for about 40 minutes now every time Rhys tries to sit down Basil runs around him honking until he gets up and runs and hides again. Many buns about who love to play chasing games? our previous bun would play for a few minutes but tire of it pretty quickly. This little guy is nuts!

umm…im not sure if your bunny is playing hide and seek….could Basil be trying to mate with your son? is your bun fixed?

Yeah I realise that ? and there has been a bit of that too just recently! (He’s not fixed as of yet). He also likes to court Rhys, dances around him and tries to mount his arm/leg but that’s all quite recent and prompting the thought that desexing needs to happen. From the time he was tiny though he would follow us all around the house and will run then stop and wait for someone to chase him then binky and look at you waiting for you to run. Seems like odd behaviour for a prey animal but he’s always done it and he was very young when we got him.

It’s so much fun when watching a bun play . I agree that it’s courting behavior, and it’s good that you are thinking about neutering. I miss the pre-spay days when Luna would circle my feet.

I would suggest getting him fixed before your son gets hurt. bunnies can get pretty aggressive when they try to mate and I would try to discourage the behavior

                  Too cute.
Just so your son doesn’t get his feelings hurt thinking the bun’s just being amorous, I have a friend with a neutered lop who loves to chase her and be chased in return. His favourite game since babyhood.
