I have a male and female brother and sister that are about 4 months old.  The male was neutered on Thursday and we kept them apart until today.  Well we put them back together tonight and he is being insanely crazy.  Constantly mounting her and biting/ripping her hair out.  I am worried for her b/c I heard her scream.  Is this normal behavior and will it stop?  He literally will not leave her alone!!!

He can still make babies for up to two months after he is neutered. Rabbits only scream when they think they are going to die. Youre going to end up with a dead rabbit if you keep them together. You cannot bond until after your girl is spayed. Good luck.

You cannot bond unfixed bunnies siblings or not. The reason your male is going off the wall is because of the post neuter craze.

Separate them immidately as you will ruin their relationship and give them ample space and don’t let them interact it takes only 3 seconds for buns to make babies. As for the scream is most likely because of the bite/mount and she was really scared cause that was probably her first mount.

Separate your rabbits and do not let them get back together for at least a month, then go through bonding procedures. It’s possible that your female was impregnated during the mounting. You may want to speak with your vet about an emergency spay.

His hormones are going bonkers right now. It’s completely normal, many bunnies go through the post-neuter craze. It will pass as his hormones level off. Unfortunately, this is unpleasant for your girl because she is being subjected to his craze. Plus, he can still get her pregnant for 6-8 weeks after the neuter. This is why it’s so important to keep them separate during this time. The others are right, it could be too late. Either way though, it’s best to separate them ASAP.

I wanted to add, you actually can’t start the bonding process until your female has been spayed and a few weeks have passed since her surgery. Hopefully, she is not pregnant now and she can be spayed in another couple of months. Then you can start bonding them.

Here are 2 good articles on bonding:

                  http://rabbit.org/faq-bonding-multiple-rabbits/

                  https://binkybunny.com/BUNNYINFO/tabid/53/CategoryID/9/PID/940/Default.aspx

Please don’t let them be together at all until your female has been spayed and recuperated. Otherwise, you are risking pregnancy and injuries.
