When I first got Eli he was about 7 months old. Now he is about 15 months old. I was living in an apartment and we shared a small room. I was almost ALWAYS home and in my room with him (I was a student and had a very open schedule and I’ve always been a homebody but anyway…). He has always been used to hearing me move around coming to pet him often through out the day. At the apartment, he used his litter box very consistently through out the day.

I recently moved back home to my moms and we now share a much bigger room. The difference is, I have been home a lot less often and when I am home, I am not always in my room with him. I have noticed him pooping less but as soon as I go in there and spend time with him, he immediately jumps in his litter box and becomes a little machine!

Would he not be pooping just because I am around less often now?

He has had stasis twice in the last month so I know that this could just be him still getting back to normal.

But the pattern is just very obvious. When I am away = no poop. As soon as I go in there = he just wants to sit in his litter box, eat hay, and poop…and then come and get head rubs.

I worry about the days when I am gone for a long time because he needs to use the bathroom even when I am not there! I feel tempted to give him motility drugs since he will spend most of the day not pooping until the evening but by morning there is a pretty normal amount of poop.

It was necessary that we move but he has not been the same since! I just want my healthy bunnyboy back!

are there no signs of him pooping when you are not in the room? so he doesn’t poop at all when you aren’t there???

Probably from about 10am-4pm he will not poop. Right now, this happen to be the exact times I am not with him. Maybe it is just a coincidence and has nothing to do with me. I can tell that he has jumped in and out of his box and eaten some hay when I am not there but no poops!

He recently recovered from stasis so I know that could be a part of it. Other than this odd pooping pattern, he is behaving and eating normally so I don’t know what could be going on!
