Ah okay guys first off I know this isn’t the best situation and I’m sorry about that. Just trying to take care of her the best I can atm. I got a new bunny and I was supposed to get a cage with her but when I went to pick them up the seller said he already gave the cage away. She is very young and of course kind of skittish around me. I bought a litter pan and food bowls but I do not have a cage yet. I am letting her have free reign in my room but I need to keep her somewhere at night. My closet is very long, about 2 ft by 10 feet, and it has a light and good air circulation. Is it terribly cruel to have her sleep in there for a couple nights while I look for a good cage?

If you put up a baby gate and the closet is already completely bunnyproofed, that should be fine

Many people here don’t even keep rabbits in a cage at all, and a small room or x-pen as home base is common. As long as there is good circulation and she has access to hay, water and litter pan, I think you could have that be her “home” for as long as you need.

Depending on your buns age you can possibly make her a free roamer. My bandit is slowly but surely becoming a free roam bunny with a few wall chewing.

If your going to use a closet that’s fine but make sure you have a litter pan and bowls and hay. She will most likely per so use fleeced and or a cat bed for her to snuggle in and stay warm

Remember to introduce space slowly and let your bunny come to you and post any questions if you have them!

Thanks so much guys! Yes, she does have a litter pan, food bowl, and water bowl, as well as a house to hide in and a chew toy. I’ve also gotten a cage now which she doesn’t mind but whenever I open her cage door she hops out and runs around the room xP Thanks for the answers!

I find this concept very bizarre. But then we Brits don’t have huge fancy closets

About litter boxes.  We use cardboard boxes, lined with newspaper, and topped off with oat hay.  They like to hop in, do their business, eat oat hay, dig around in the hay looking for oat kernels, and start to eat the cardboard.

If you keep your rabbit in the closet at night, best you not leave leather shoes on the floor!!

Its like Victorian Britain at my house, I don’t have a closet or wardrobe, I love it!

I would say to get bunny something she can sleep in at night to call her own space as soon as you can, my parents had a German Shepard dog and he used to climb in the built in wardrobe at night, my parents tried to stop him by putting clothes in there, but he dug them out and went to sleep in there.
